First Day to File

Saturday, July 18, 2026 is the first day candidates may file an  for the Nov. 3, 2026 Board of Trustees Election, however, since ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿ÚÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ offices are not open on weekends, applications can be submitted starting Monday, July 20, 2026, at 9:00 A.M.

Deadline to File

Monday, August 17, 2026, at 5:00 P.M., is the deadline to file an for the Board of Trustees Election.

Friday, August 21, 2026, is the deadline to file a . A declaration of write-in candidacy must satisfy the same requirements as an application for a place on the ballot.

Filing Fee

ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿ÚÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ does not charge a Candidate Filing Fee.

  • In-person: Applications may be submitted in person between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the LISD Administration Building located at 204 W. South St., on days the Admin Building is open. Note: Hours of operation vary during the summer months. Please call 512-570-0000 to verify summer hours.

Forms to File


  • Per the , all candidates must file Form CTA even if they do not intend to raise or spend any money for their campaign. Form CTA is required to be filed before a candidate files an application for a place on the ballot, raises or spends any money for their campaign, or announces their candidacy.   • All candidates are required to file semiannual reports using Form C/OH even if they have no campaign activity or were unsuccessful in the election. Annual filing due dates and schedules are available on the . Forms should be filed with the ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿ÚÃâ·Ñ¹Û¿´ Elections Coordinator, Cindy Anderson. To end your filing obligations, you must cease campaign activity and file a Final Report using and attach Form C/OH-FR (Designation of Final Report).   • Although it is not required, many candidates also file a .

  • Pursuant to Section 552.1175 of the Texas Government Code, may request that information from your candidate application which identifies your home address, home telephone number, emergency contact information, date of birth, social security number, or whether you have family members be restricted from public access. By completing and submitting to the filing authority with whom you filed your candidate application, you are requesting the confidentiality of the information as stated above. A photocopy of documentation showing that you are eligible for confidentiality must be attached to the written request. If you want to rescind this confidentiality request, you must do so in writing to the filing authority with whom you filed your candidate application.
